My shutter opens and exposes the mirror type sensor to the light, and snaps closed again at 1/800 a second. But the vision was already there before any of that happened. Whether I am in the city observing people, in a national park shooting across a long grass field, or visiting an abandoned building that's about to collapse; every situation has different lighting. I am always observing, always looking for the moment that average people miss. I like to bring to life the little things that people pass by every day and treat as ordinary. New York City gives me a certain level of energy and drive that I want when it comes to my work; and that is one of the reasons I currently attend the Fashion Institute of Technology, pursuing a BFA in Photography and Related Media.
